Welcome to Stalk and Stem Nutrition!
My name is Samantha and I am a Registered and Licensed Dietitian with a Masters in Public Health Nutrition.
I was born and raised in New Hampshire and received by Bachelors in Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of New Hampshire. After I graduated, I decided it was time to leave all that was familiar to me and I headed down South. I landed in Florida which is where I received my Masters in Public Health Nutrition and completed by Dietetic Internship at the University of South Florida. I am currently a Clinical Nutrition Specialist/Registered Dietitian at Tampa General Hospital. I currently work in the neonatal intensive care unit. Prior to this position, I provided medical nutrition therapy and counseling to adults with a wide range of nutrition-related complications.

Nutrition to me
Nutrition can be infinitely complicated and convoluted but in its most raw form it is about food practices present in different cultures and traditions. To me, nutrition is a form of connection that can be formed between between persons or groups of people. Much of my passion for nutrition comes from learning about different cultures and translating this knowledge into cooking, to create something that can be replicated and enjoyed.
I practice and encourage others to practice nutrition as eating to nourish your mind and body while not restricting yourself.
